Hey Mama,
I'm Sarah, the creator of Mama & Sweet Pea and proud Mum to three amazing Kiddies.
My M&SP story started back in 2016 when I first fell pregnant. It was during this time that I discovered there was actually a huge gap in the market for maternity wear. As my pregnancy progressed I found myself buying clothes I wouldn’t normally or they just didn't sit properly. There really was no choice. I then became a Mum and found the same problem with breastfeeding friendly clothes. How can a new Mum build confidence to breastfeed (let alone in public) when she has to bare a lot more than necessary to do so? And add to that, where’s the magic to help my nipples? My sore blistered, cracked nipples *gulp*!
When I fell pregnant again I was determined to invest in clothes that were both pregnancy and breastfeeding friendly. Again I struggled, but when I did find items they were in separate places and I would be up for multiple shipping fees – not happy!
2022 I gave birth to my 3rd child in Mudgee. It was during my pregnancy with her that the idea of a curated collection of maternity and breastfeeding wear, alongside essential accessories really ramped up. I made the decision not to return to work as a registered nurse but become a business owner and bring stylish, comfortable maternity and breastfeeding wear and essential accessories to the bush.
So beginning 2023, Mama & Sweet Pea was born.
